Brown Willy I: There ...
Spetts swung the big Merc effortlessly into a 3-point turn at the end of the tiny moorland road and tucked it in against the verge out of the way of farm traffic. There were four of us that day with a total collective age of over two centuries and this was our first ever expedition to climb the highest tor in Cornwall, Brown Willy.

The road back from Minster went quickly, the landscape fading into the background as I strode along between the hedges scanning the countryside without paying much attention.

Triptych II: Out
Back in the car I go east of Bossiney off the island. Descending into Rocky Valley and crossing the Trevillett river I pass out of one world and into another, heading for Boscastle.

I hit the Cornwall border doing damn near a ton, Kernow a’gas dynergh, and kept pushing it hard until the hill down into Bossiney where things always begin to change, slowing me down and pulling me gently in.
